Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Insurance
Since 2010, Pakistan Insurance Institute in affiliation with the University of Karachi offers a 2 Semester PGD in Insurance with specialization in following areas:
- Property and Business Interruption Insurance
- Marine and Transport Insurance
- Motor, Liability and Miscellaneous Insurance
- Actuarial Science
- Life Insurance
Salient features of the program are:
- Diploma awarded by the University of Karachi
- Ten subjects are taught, each carrying 100 marks
- Minimum passing score: 50 out of 100

Eligibility
Graduates in any discipline securing at least 50% marks, in aggregate, from any recognized institution.
Selected candidate will be required to appear for an interview before enrolment.

Examination
Evaluation to qualify for PGD award is as under:
- 40 % assessment by PII during the semester via class participation, tests, report writing, etc; and
- final examination conducted by the University of Karachi carries 60 % weightage
- Candidates are required to pass both internal and external examination
Admission form is available for Rs.100 from the Institute.
On successful completion of the Post Graduate Diploma the candidate may apply to Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) for Accreditation in Prior Learning awards from the CII
